Rtf file resides in FAT32 partition and when trying to open it from
nautilus by double clicking it will instead try to execute it. Doc and
odt files aren opened correctly in openoffice writer.
Rtf file type is:
Rich Text Format data, version 1, ANSI

I am now experiencing this same problem. Its weird though cause it just
started happening. The Login screen will come up and it accepts the user
name and password that i put it. The login screen transitions to the
brownish screen and then just hangs there. I can restart X by Zapping
it.

It isn't a bug because disks aren't supposed to appear in the desktop
folder, just the desktop. (It's an option in gconf-editor
/apps/nautilus/desktop volumes_visible). This is more of a wish.

I'm seeing something similar on Gutsy (AMD64) with only 4 local users.
CPU usage goes to 100% as soon as I select another user from the list.
strace shows the following when I try the user switch:
sendto(19, "FLEXI_XSERVER_USER ozlem\n", 25, MSG_NOSIGNAL, NULL, 0) = 25

This still happened in Gutsy 32bit, exactly happened like David Prieto's

/proc/meminfo' on a terminal, also 'swapon -s' and give us the output.
I don't see a bug here. You system is busy so the apps aren't that
