Ah, the problem is that you are using SVG images. SVG is a vector format. gThumb and eog are raster viewers. The librsvg library is used by gThumb and eog to convert the SVG image into a raster format - automatically causing fuzziness. I'm not sure what dpi/resolution is used in the vector>raster
