It would appear that if an application exits abnormally, and without the
opportunity to cleanup its resources like notification area icons, the
panel will just display the dead icon unrepainted. A 500 ms timer that
queries each icon's process
This is not something we'd be willing to carry a package delta on
indefinitely. As such, it's a job for upstream. Please monitor the

I can confirm this bug as well, fully updated Gutsy, Nautilus v 2.19.4;
the documents folder is represented twice in the places menu on the Menu
Bar. No bookmarks have been created and it does reproduce itself with a

I use Kubuntu Feisty, so gnome-volume-manager is not my problem.

Well...
I just backported the Evolution from Gutsy to my system, and I am
slightly disappointed.
The paper size is fixed... but the other problems that are shown in the
PDF that I attached (the printing running off the page, the extra page
at the end) are not fixed. If Gutsy were to be released
I'm still seeing the bug with 2.18.1.1 (Fiesty amd64).

I run on Feisty and have almost the same problem, unless that I can
choose to wait like 1 minute for the file(s) to appear in the list. My
computer is not a slow one (x86, 1,8Ghz, 512Mb RAM DDR) , but it seems

Sadly, the radeon driver does not (yet) support the M56GL.
Anyhow, your guess was correct: I have upgraded the fglrx driver to
8.38.6 and totem and xine are working fine again.
Strange only, that mplayer was still working with XVideo...

Actually apport should work on this kernel again. Can you please do the
following:
sudo rm /var/crash/*
sudo rm /var/log/apport.log
/usr/share/apport/testsuite/run-tests 2>&1 | tee /tmp/apport-test.out
and attach /tmp/apport-test.out and /var/log/apport.log to bug 122688?

There's a small error in the Dutch translation of the Blackjack game.
When you can choose for insurance in the game you get a window with the
following text:

When "Anwendungen" (Applications) is selected the menu is shown.
With keyboard accelerators.
But you can't use them.
This _is_ a bug.
And notice that going to "Orte" (Places) is possible by pressing "O".
But then the first item in the "Orte" menu is selected and you can't go
to "Anwendungen" or "

Yes, it plays fine with Totem in Ubuntu Hoary and Breezy IIRC ;-)
But to answer your question, I just tried with VLC, and it works fine... like

This should get any dependencies, download the package and extract it in

I'm willing to try hardcoding the paper size as Letter to see if that
will work. I'm familiar with the./configure; make; make install process
of compiling source code.
Where is the source code for the Feisty version of Evolution. I enabled
