ok, I think I have identified the problematic package :
libx11-6 2:1.1.1-1 (experimental) and libx11-xcb1(experimental) are on my
system. there are the only 2 X related packages that are different from my
system and another (sid too) where it works.
I already had some problems and incompabilitie
xserver version :
$ apt-show-versions xserver-xorg-core
xserver-xorg-core/sid uptodate 2:1.3.0.0.dfsg-5
installed your libx11-6, removed libxcb-*, restarted X and it works like a
charm :)
So the bug is actually related to libxcb.

I've investigated a little bit more and realized that the responsible of
crashings is actually a compiz extension : when alpha_blur is enabled to
any windows, it makes X crahing.
I think that severity can be decreased to low, as problem can be worked
around just disabling an extension.

Hi,
I like to modify my keyboard configuration to suit my needs by modifying files
in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols.
Each time xkb-data is updated, it overwrites my modifications. I think
this files should be considered configuration fil

Same problem here.
I could work around this problem using r200 binaries snapshot from
http://dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots/ using
r200-20060403-linux.i386.tar.bz2. It's dirty, but does (badly) the
trick. Will try buil
Incident can be closed. Indeed, the bug was due to the paquet
libgl1-nvidia-glx. I got this paquet in the update list despite i don't
have nvidia device in my computer.
Removing it solved the issue.
