I have the same (or similar) issue. But for me. not only the screen is
currupted, the whole machine freezes. (I tried to ssh onto it from
another host) This occurs at probably 5 to 10 % of all switches to VT.
And it also occured once when I wanted to logout from KDE.

I just tested without kernel modesetting enabled and the bug is still
there. So it's likely a problem of X server 1.7.*

Have you also tried to take a screenshot with Gimp. using the "Select
whole Screen" option?
I'm asking because I have a corruption that looks similar to your
screenshot and could be fixed by ColorTiling=off, but I was able take a
screenshot with the Gimp, and I'd like to know whether it's the
