Conclusion: UnloadSubModule() was and is still buggy.
I commented out UnloadSubModule(mod) tentative in 1.12.3, the X server
started successful after that.
So the solution would be either comment out UnloadSubModule() or fix it...

internalisation problem in xterm, but I'm not
sure if it's caused by using problematic characters in the libreoffice
install scripts. Beside of this the apt-get seem to have finished it's
job, libreoffice seems to be installed.

broken. Using the same file from an earlier xlibs-paket corrected this

Just updated my xorg to version 1.6.3 (available in Debian/sid) with the
current intel driver 2.8.0. It works there fine.
I recommend as a workaround for everyone running in this kind of
problems to upgrade, if you can live with packages from the testing world.

another final note. The glxgears corruption comes from a bug in the
tiling code of the intel driver. Add the following line to your video
card section in xorg.conf and it works ok:
