/XFree86.0.log gets
overwritten at restart. Is there an option I can set to append to
or rotate this log file so I don't lose the info?
Maybe the problem could be reproduced by quickly cycling through the
xscreensaver hacks.

In 4.2.1-7 prerelease packages, this bug now causes the
machine to lock hard. I have also determined that the
trigger of this bug is the NerveRot XScreenSaver hack,
possible with the default or the "dense" settings. Give it
a try, lock your machine hard.

Since upgrading to 4.2.1-4 X packages last night, my
powerbook now crashes when woken up, if X is running. The
crash is unfortunately 100% reliable and happens the very
first time the book is put to sleep. This crash does not
occur at the con
This is no longer a bug in the 4.2.x packages. I believe you should
close it.

I had this very same problems, which I traced to my
installation of Xft and Fontconfig from fontconfig.org. I
got rid of those, and everything was peachy. The solution
was to remove Xft2 and Fontconfig, as those are incompatible
with xftcache. According to Keith Packard, xftcache is
obsolete in

I installed the prerelease packages, and they work great on
my multihead G450 + Millenium II flat panel setup.
Absolutely no worries of any kind, except that for some
reason the fonts section of the config file never includes
my truetype fonts, but I digress.

my multihead G450 + Millenium II flat panel setup.
