Due to what appears to be a code generation issue, libttf2
1.4pre.20011029-1 and XFree86 4.2 segfault on Alpha when attempting to
render some TrueType fonts.

Sadly, the updated ASUS bios does not fix this issue.
I do note that this board seems to use the same BIOS as noted in the
recently-infamous "FoxConn"
Asus has published a BIOS update for this motherboard (version 0709,
dated April 2010) that finally fixed this issue for me. I'd say the bug
can be closed.
