Hi,
Upgrading xserver-xorg-video-intel to 2:2.3.2-2+lenny3 (instead of +lenny1)
improves the situation : the screen still randomly flickers, but moving the
pointer around the screen redraws correctly the screen, and makes the desktop
partly usable for a few second, till it flickers again.

No ping after a crash. trying to ssh into the system (it works before a crash)
results in:
$ ssh [EMAIL PROTECTED]

FWIW I did a quick git bisect, and this is the commit that causes the
