to start X with xinit command but with same result. After return from X
variable is set right.

On startup, xprt immediately exits because it can't find the "fixed"
font. Nevertheless, the font is there:
$ xlsfonts |grep '^fixed'
fixed
And "xterm -fn fixed" works fine w/o error.
