I just discover that the problem was on my hard drive!.
Because of some other problem I did a disk checking and found several
invalid nodes, among them, the one that had /usr/bin/which. I clear the
nodes, reinstall that file, and the problem I reported before is gone:)

I've noticed some strange behavior of my computer after upgrading XFree
from 4.3.0-7 to version 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1. Several days ago I did
dist-upgrade on Debian Sid and new version of X came with lots of other
packages, as usually.
Now I can't switch from X to VT using Ctrl Alt Fn.

Considering the fact that it showed its head on
FreeBSD's build as well I do not believe this problem
to be localized to Debian's XFree86 build. I sent the
original to you because thats what the debian bug
reports say I should do. You can close this problem
report and I'll open one up with XFree86
