Zdenek, Branden says he has turned the old drivers on again. Try
updating again.
As for xbooks, if it is what I think it is -- books about X -- then
those can be downloaded from xfree86.org, at least. In the past they
were the third of the three source archives. I do not know about things
now. Sor

Actually, I don't. AFAICT XFree86's "bug tracking system" consists of
tracking down the person responsible for the relevant part of the code base

No, because its aspect ratio is wrong. If you want it, it is a 5-second
edit to XF86Config-4
Congratulations! I'm happy to hear that you got success.

Hi,
I notice that the r128 driver no longer works as of 4.0.1-4, I'm not sure why
the symptoms are that the screen goes black and the keyboard stops working, the
machine doesn't lock up but I have to telnet to it in order the shut it down.
Killing X has no effect on the keyboard or screen, although

Hi,
Here is a little patch to `dexter', that makes two enhancements.
Add `-s' to enable selecting another X server even if the current one
is recognized [used for generating `XF86Config-4' in an older environment].
It recognizes `XF86_3DLabs' as one of the existing XFree86-3 servers.

My inbox has literally exploded with bugs since I released 4.0.1. Perhaps
100 or more have been filed.
The bugs are coming in faster than I can do triage on them.
I am literally overwhelmed.
I would appreciate it if those on this list could do what they can as
described on the X Strike Force p
Someone please direct this person to the Debian X FAQ (or quote it for
him), which has a very long section on troubleshooting this very issue.
You don't know how proud it makes me to see those FAQ's I write go unread,
year after year...

Are these optimizations also benificial for the K7 (Athlon) line of
CPU's?

Since he was nice to me in the first sentence, please be nice to him. :)
I think he probably just needs a URL to Raphael Bossek's packages. Anyone
know it?

Yoriyosi,
Please do not email Branden directly. Email debian-user if you think the
problem is common, or debian-x if you think the problem is unique to the
Debian packaging of X. In this case, I believe it is unique to the
debian packaging of X, so debian-x would be the correct address to
email.
Tony, you are the lucky recipient of the navidad virus. Figure out how
to remove it.
[Check the debian-x archives if this email makes no sense to you. You
sent an email to debian-x containing the text here, and navidad.exe, the
latest winblows virus going around. :]
