For a week or so I've been running xserver-xorg-video-intel
2.12.0+shadow-2 (and shadow-1 for a week before that). Good news: The
problem has not reappeared.

I am trying 2.12.0 now. But I get several problems:
1. One time it wouldn't resume from S3 sleep.
2. Regularly the mouse does not work.
I'll try some more tests and see what I can reproduce and capture in the
