you are right. linux-image without "bigmem" is much better. I will stay
with this kernel - this version works fine.

many thanks for your answer. I am using 3GB RAM and linux-image package
without "bigmem" was unsuable on my system (this kernel looks very
unstable for me after some upgrade make my system unbootable).
