I was told that RandR 1.2 doesn't support multi-head with more than one
card, so RandR is not an option in this setup.

I've recently updated to the new version, I had the old config for
dual-head, and it was breaking the X server. I've followed what is in
this bug report and it worked as expected except for some things...
1) I couldn't make the X server work with two different screens (I
mean :0.0 and :0.1),
