Considering the fact that it showed its head on
FreeBSD's build as well I do not believe this problem
to be localized to Debian's XFree86 build. I sent the
original to you because thats what the debian bug
reports say I should do. You can close this problem
report and I'll open one up with XFree86

Debian bug tracking system
Yes they do, in fact both monitors work flawlessly
(with identical hardware) under Windows 2000. There
seems to be something up with XFree86 4, as when the
last time I used unix on these monitors was duing the
3.x days and there were also no problems there.

XFree86 DPMS blanking is behaving strangely. When the server moves to
"power off" mode, my monitor will turn off and then back on about once
every 2 seconds about 30 times. Then it will finaly settle down into
