The 4.3.0-5 debian upgrade: XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 (Debian 4.3.0-5 20040305041558) seems to have solved the problem. I think that the Debian releases must've caught up to the fix mentioned in http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/845driver.html Thank you, folks, for the frequent upgrades. --OJ
