Hi,
About 4 years ago, you reported (or replied to) a bug in the Debian BTS
regarding a corrupted color palette on Trident Cyber boards. Did any of
you guys reproduce this problem recently? If not, I will close this bug
in the next weeks.
Thanks,
Brice

I'm also seeing this same bug on my NEC Versa SX (same chipset). As
with the others it only happens in 16bit mode (but 8bit mode is not that
useful these days). I also downgraded to 4.1.0_16:
apt-get install xserver-xfree86=4.1.0-16
and that worked (note I had to halt my system and power down
Just a little note: I also got bitten by this bug on a Fujitsu E342
laptop with Trident Cyber 9388 chipset. Downgrading to 4.1.0-16 solved
the problem. If I can be of any help in further diagnosing the problem,
The patch from bug #164446 did not help.
