Just checked, while running the freetype module and xfs-xtt I can start xmms
whithout a problem.
But if I run xfstt xmms crashes the Xserver instantly.
Shall I file a bugreport against xfstt?

Hello,
in /etc/X11/gdm/locale.conf there is
German(Germany) [EMAIL PROTECTED]
also in /etc/locale.gen is
[EMAIL PROTECTED] UTF-8
so [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a valid construction I guess...
Just to be sure I also tested with de_DE.UTF-8 locale with the same results.
Starting some applications cra
i just tried
dpkg --purge --force-depends xlibs
and after that removed everything from /etc/X11/xkb except /etc/X11/xkb/compiled
and /etc/X11/xkb/xkbcomp.
after reinstallation of xlibs AltGr now works again, xev now shows
ISO_Level3_Shift.
thanks for your help.
regards
klaus

There is neither an /etc/X11/Xmodmap nor any $HOME/.Xmodmap.

Not that I know... how do I check that?
Usually I run gdm, but AltGr also does not work when starting X with startx.
Running X as user or root does not make a difference.

Package: xlibs
Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1
Severity: important
After running woody for some time I updated it and now the AltGr key does not wo
rk anymore so that curly barces, pipe etc are no longer available in X.
The configuration was not changed.
AltGr works without X on the console.
