I have the same results as Andrea. Compiling the drm and radeon modules as described there : http://wiki.x.org/wiki/radeonhd:r6xx_r7xx_branch solves the problem both with radeon and radeonhd drivers. I've also tested Ubuntu Jaunty beta, and the problem is not there. Thus, they have either patc
