Strictly speaking these were not mandatory for me, but they were one of the
last libraries still in /usr/lib/ in specific build chroot I had.
Happy new year :)

Hi,
Any updates here? As a udev reverse dependency this is quite important
for earlt multi-arch conversion.

I verify this patch works. I've modified it to include -dev package
as multiarch: same as well, so that build dependency resolvers can figure
out the right thing out of box.

mesa-demos sources have es2gears, es2_info and es2gears, es1_info and
some other sinty apps to try out if OpenGL ES is working. It would be
really nice if these were packaged, like ubuntu is already doing.

Hi,
Similar problems for me too (Thinkpad X40 with 855GM). xserver hasn't been
stable or working ever since 2.3.2 (lenny version). None of the kernel updates
have given relief either. At the moment the only solution is to keep the lenny
version of xserver-xorg-video-intel:
echo xserver-xorg-video

Can you try "strace X" to see what exactly is being mmap'd?
Also, can you try if upgrading to 2.6.26-4 kernel helps?

I'm seeing this error on i855GM chipset as well. This crash is
reproducable by
1. running a movie in Xine, exit
2. suspend (APM)
3. run the movie again (x server crashes before the video starts playing)
