Finally I figured it out. Using the intel-driver made it smooth & fast again as it used to be on this hardware. I had to add this: >> /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-intel.conf' -- QUOTE BEGIN -- Section "Device" Identifier "Intel" Driver "intel" # Option "AccelMethod"

Hi guys, so I report as requested: - Debian 8 Jessie - Dell Latitude d800 - nVidia Geforce 4 - Syslog: "nouveau E[ DRM] Unknown LVDS configuration bits, please report" - the X display is distorted for login-screen + xterm, but icewm menu looks OK. I guess it depends on the fonts us
