It looks to me like you need to modify the rules file when adding a
layout but that file is not conffile and is not extensible.

It is quite non-obvious why would dummy driver require a console under
any circumstances. It does not render anything anywhere so does not
use console for anything.

I never managed to set any evdev options with udev.

The swrastg driver is not available in Mesa in Debian.
When swrastg is compiled with llvm enabled it gives software speeds
usable for demos on systems which lack 3D hardware or where the
hardware is not supported.

While building the 32bit package I noticed that Mesa 7.9 dous not build
with libdrm-dev 2.4.21 or libxcb1-dev 1.1-1.2
It works with the later versions available in debian which are 2.4.22
and 1.6 respectively.
