Hello,
I have a high-end laptop from 2012 with an intel integrated graphics and
a discrete Radeon card with 2 GB VRAM. This has been working perfectly
well for years, i.e. I could select the discrete graphics card with
DRI_PRIME=1. Yester
lend a hand there, too.
Thank you so much for your detailed investigation. I ran gnat-gps
under strace too, but couldn't spot the problem with ioctl. I will
investigate in the gnat-gps sources and tell you where I think the
problem is. If you can lend a hand as you say, your help is most
welcome.

Any attempt to compile a program from within gnat-gps (an IDE) using
F4 or the Build menu causes the X server to crash. By my book, any
crash of the X server is a bug in the X server; this bug captures
this. Another
