3. xf86config - text based.
4. manual editing
I personally favor 4, but most people will ask for a graphical configuration
utility.

xserver-xfree86 contains /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86cfg which is linked with
libXaw.so.7 which is in libxaw7 package.
Using 4.0.1-0phase2v5 on potato system.
