i've tried this driver on a g4 imac with the following card:
:00:10.0 0300: 10de:0189 (rev a2)
:00:10.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV18 [GeForce4 MX with
AGP8X (Mac)] (rev a2)
it worked fine.

This suggestion helped me:
