I am having the same issue. This looks like a duplicate of #814982 which already references a patch that seems to solve the issue.

As indicated in this thread: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=123716&start=15 the process "/usr/bin/X :0 -seat seat0 -auth /var/run/lightdm/root/:0 -nolisten tcp vt7 -novtswitch" is spiking up everytime by just opening a new tab(which brings up the default new tab page with the selectio
