I believe Debian Bug #79381 is fixed.
The original problem OP was having is that the "xhost +username"
notation is only for Secure RPC authentification. This was pointed out
by Alan Coopersmith in [1].
The man page of xhost has been modified by the upstream patch in
[2]. So
