Package: xserver-xorg-driver-glide
Version: 1.0.3-2
Severity: serious
First of all thanks for all your efforts in advance.
I do not have any Voodoo video hardware but installed all Xorg drivers on three
different systems. On all of them "Xorg -configure" leaves the system in
unusable states, i.
I believe I've found where the problem was introduced, but I don't have
a proper solution. I'd appreciate it if any of you are able to code up
thing to replace the buggy uxa_put_image code.
The problem was introduced in
commit 19d8c0cf "uxa: PutImage acceleration"

At least on powerpc, KMS in squeeze means no backlight control and no
suspend/resume, so delay this to wheezy.

Thoughts? (IIRC Michel suggested doing this a while back, I didn't get

Actually, reverting to linux-image-2.6.32-3-686 brings X back to life,
with discernible error messsages anywhere.
Morale of the story: always keep a few versions of the kernel
installed, you might just need them...
