Hi,
so did you close this bug because the latest unstable (and testing?)
versions of compiz now do something sensible, or because there is a
work-around as documented on your livejournal?
If the latter, I don't think this bug should be left closed at all, a

Hi,
On a Toshiba satellite 2800-S202 I've been running under debian
unstable for quiet a while, however Today I performed an "aptitude
safe-upgrade", and I got a new version of xserver-xorg-video-savage.
This was a bad update... Actually I'm writing from a different
computer, since using X is way

retitle 443794 X server crashes randomly in libGLcore in _mesa_set_viewport
thanks
I've verified that this was fixed in mesa 7.0.2-1.
Reassigning to mesa and closing, hope you don't mind.

Hi,
the compiz metapackage actually depends only on compiz-gnome but it
should depends on something like "compiz-gnome|compiz-kde" because now
it brings a lot of gnome packages that aren't really needed.
Thanks,

hello,
i tried doing what was written above :
cat /path/to/default-x-server.template >>
/var/lib/dpkg/info/xserver-xorg.templates
dpkg --configure xserver-xorg
but it continued failing, and finally did not work for me. the
solution was to copy a backup xorg.conf file to /etc/X11/.
