Yes, all other Ctrl-Alt combinations appear to work including
Ctrl-Alt-F# and Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. It's only Keypad-Plus and Minus

i had the same problem with both of my laptops. One having an ati radeon
mobility x300 (using r300 driver) and the other one having an intel
