Please see #349318 for context. In the fix for that bug, ${freetypelibs}
${xrenderlibs} were moved from Libs: to Libs.private: in xft.pc. At some
later point, ${freetypecflags} ${xrendercflags} were removed from
Cflags: to reflect this.

Hi: The re-emergence of the vt switching problem may have just been
coincidence, eg. this time is may have just happened to crash when I did
the switch, as I tried again and have no problems.

Yes, that was a typo. udevinfo should print some
error message, like "no such entry in database".
I did not try your suggested udev config change, though.

I have tested several cases, starting "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" doesn't
allways help in starting the x-server. pcitweak also hasn't brought any
worthwhile information.
By looking at the backtrace i had an different idea: What if the xserver gets
mouse events before the card is initialize

To put it very bluntly, the new evdev driver is a regression in a number
of ways, from lack of xkb support, to no way to configure mice handling,
and most importantly, to the complete lack of any sane way to specify
devic
Unfortunately, it appears that this bug is back. This time I haven't
done anything except upgrade to Debian unstable (which I do regulalrly).
So, I'm not sure what the "xlibs - data" mismatch is, but given that I'm
following Debian packages I don't think it would be just me. Has anyone
else had
