retitle 168601 xdm: Provide a none option during dm selection question
thanks
I'm resurrecting this bug because I think the users could definitely use it
and it should be trivial to implement. We can deploy the code first in xdm
and provide it for the other dm's to add as well. The title reflects

I've had success after rebuilding the xserver-xorg and xserver-common
packages with this patch as suggested by dri-devel folks:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2005-December/011679.html
This fixed the lockups on startup and also the VT switch problems.
I also installed the patched pa

It's a bug in bash, not the terminal emulator.

Ok, Here I come closer.
XKB in xorg seems to break with 3 keyboard layouts.
How to reproduce:
run triple layout setup with
$ setxkbmap -geometry "pc(pc101)" -layout "us,ru,fr" -option \
"grp:alt_shift_toggle"
and try to switch the layouts with alt_shift_toggle (this fails).
Then, set up

Open an Xterm window and type a long line. The line will wrap onto the
same line, over lapping the text.
The same results in aterm and Eterm.
A semi-fix I have found is to manually change the xterm window size
(using the mouse and drag a corner). This moves the te

Hi,
I had to downgrade the server to 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 to get X to
stop crashing. Unfortunately, /var/log/Xorf.0.log does not retain
more than one version, so back trace details are missing. But this
seems like a regressi
Further data point: after a certain amount of uptime (it appears to have
been over 6 hours) the desktop window problem goes away, though the
mouse pointer corruption is still there.

no problem (perhaps someone had locally customized /etc/X11/app-defaults/XTerm,
and that was overwritten in the upgrade).

When running GNOME the desktop window becomes corrupted, carrying images
of the contents of other windows, mostly those to the top left of the
screen. This mostly seems to happen when a window is moved: the desktop

Hi !
Since recent upgrade to xterm 208, alt-backspace, alt-f and other
combinations do not work any more. The first one should delete a whole
word before the cursor, the second one should jump at the end of the
next word. They work fine with Eterm. T

It's just that some characters are missing. I have found alternative
