i don't know if this is any help, but when i got this message on my box, it was because the /tmp directory did not have the correct permissions on it and i couldn't uncompress the keyboard layout properly. i hope this helps, nathanp.

startx is missing

Hi! I just did an apt-get update & apt-get upgrade and since I saw that many x packages were updated, I decided to quit and restart X. The I found after quitting X that the startx program was gone. dpkg -S startx yields: kdebase: /usr/share/apps/ksysguard/icons/locolor/16x16/apps/startx.png
