I'm not sure if this is a packaging problem or an upstreams problem, but at
least in phase2v12 /usr/share/doc/xlibs-dev contains a large number of
symbolic links to files that don't exist. For instance
XwcTextPropertyToTextList.3x.html is a link to
XmbTextListToTextProperty.3x.html (rather than to

Actually, this is not just happening with xawtv, but any xaw menu.
It appears to be an upstream problem; send your report there.

Hello,
xawtv worked fine with the phase2 debs until the upgrade to version
13. With version 13, various actions (such as using menus) caused
xawtv to crash with the message
Error: XtMakeGeometryRequest - parent not composite
Recompiling xawtv with the current libraries didn't make a difference.

Joe, since this has never affected me I haven't bothered to learn;
perhaps I should. But, I suggest you take a look at the archives for
this group, as I know this topic has been beaten to death once or twice.

For a while, I was seeing a mysterious inability for gdm to log in, and
finally tracked it down to its /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default script,
which calls /usr/X11R6/bin/sessreg. This is present in the woody version
of X, but not in the new packages. Is this a bug in gdm, the new X packages,
or has it

For a while, I was seeing a mysterious inability for gdm to log in, and
finally tracked it down to its /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default script,
which calls /usr/X11R6/bin/sessreg. This is present in the woody version
of X, but not in the new packages. Is this a bug in gdm, the new X packages,
or has it
