btw, they already archive debian-announce, debian-user, debian-devel,
and debian-changes.
i'm tempted to volunteer to help out with the lists archiving myself but
don't think i have enough free time to do it.

can't move fast enough OR muster the resources (programmer's hands,
brains, and eyes) that the free software movement can. Of course, they've
got a lot of money to compensate for that....but that only partially
compensates.
