Followup-For: Bug #1001503
Can you explain a bit more how one will be able to use tlswrapper ?
Maybe compare it to available solutions like stunnel ?
Thanks,

Hi nicoo,
I have worked towards gping as I'm also interested in packaging it.
As of now there is only one crate missing for it. I hope you don't mind me
taking over the ITP.
The package will be maintained within the rust team. If you're interested, we
can work together on this.

Hi,
did you have time to look into this? I'd be also interested in have a debian
package for it. Even if it would be non-free. You could ask on
debian-le...@lists.debian.org how to address the legal situation.
Cheers

I've been away from this for a while so I haven't had much time to look at
it, sorry.
I know they've put a flatpak version together though so that may make it
easier to install

Hi,
Tlswrapper (similar to stunnel) adds TLS encryption functionality to programs
without modifying their code.
The fundamental difference against stunnel is in the approach to security.

itself and

Since the Nginx maintainers explicitly do not want to support external modules

I tried to do some work on this in here: https://salsa.debian.org/akshay/sfst/
Was facing issues with debian build not succeeding.
That led to two PRs in the upstream repo. But once those were merged I didn't
get a chance to try this again.

Hello Andrea,
When maintaining packages that are waiting to be sponsored, it's
generally a good idea to mark the distribution in debian/changelog as
UNRELEASED, because if it's listed as unstable, your ITP keeps getting
