This week ejabberd 14.05 was released which adds new features and a new
dependency:
erlang-p1-sip: https://github.com/processone/p1_sip
The current erlang version in testing + unstable is too new for 13.12,
so the plan is to go straight for the 14.05 r

I naively assumed upstream knew what they were doing with
SOVERSION/SONAME. It appears this was a side effect of the cmake build
files. The VERSION was used in place of the SOVERSION (this is fixed
in current cmake files now
