Hi All,
I just installed dwww and apache web server. I need to set up my system as a
host. How do I do it? I know I have to edit resolv.conf.
My resolv.conf has just the entries for my ISP nameserver. So how do I give my
system a IP address..?
Thanks,

Try this...Shutdown X, logout as root, logon as a user, type startx. In X, now
try netscape&. This should work... I think, you logged on as
a user when X is still running as root(Ctrl + shift + f2!!!).

I had the same problem.. In apache.conf (I think in etc/apache.conf),
uncomment the ServerName line and set it accordingly. It works fine then...

'ps a' showed only FTP,
no PPP.
I am not sure if it is my fault or the system, but it sure looked strange..

Hi ,
I am working to develop a Intranet for my company and one of the suggestions
is to use Debian. One of the features needed is a bulletin board. Is there any
software available to implement it(esp. in Debian)..

Did you do 'make modules;make modules_install'? Did you also run
depmod-a?.
If yes, then looks to me like you never loaded the module. You can do it at
boot or whenever you wish. Try typing insmod module name(eg:ppp.o for ppp).

DEC tulip with/without PNIC. However, slink drivers take care of that.
Hope that helps,

Approximatly 37% of the web runs on Linux amd 50% of web on Apache. I forgot
the URL, but some site counts the web servers. Methinks there should be some
well known sites with 375 of market :).
