I am beginning to realize that one of the biggest difference (drawback) of
Debian versus Caldera or SuSE is the abscence of a centralized file (i.e.
/etc/rc.config like in SuSE) to hold a bunch of environment variables that
define the behavior of the scripts in /etc/rc*.d

kernel reboots automatically when trying to execute the kernel ... happens
whether I boot from the El-Torito'd slink CD or from the floppy disk ...

Im behind a proxy in my college where i cannot use gaim, as 5050 tunnelling is not allowed.
Can anyone suggest a tunnelling client with a frontend so that i can connect my gaim??
Your-Freedom works but im looking for something which is GPL'd.
