vnc & ximian gnome

in the office the box has gdm installed and goes into ximian gnome by default, but now i installed vncserver and when i open a vnc window i get a normal X with wm but without desktop envirronement. how can i make it load gnome-session by default ? i tried to put 'exec gnome session &' in .vnc/xsta

problems with screen on potato

I have a strange problem with 'screen' on my potato debian box, i can start screen with no problem but i cant create a second window, i could before but it suddenly ceased working, it was a bit after i installed ximian that it stopped working, could that be the problem, it has worked god with xi
