My rule of thumb:
1. install 'deborphan' package.
2. run it.
3. you can safely remove the packages listed by
respect to flash based sites.
So, you must have latest flash installed, but you can install JRE 6.0
instead of v6.1 or even you can use JRE 5. It won't create any problem.

Ktorrent is working for me fine. No crashing. You can use transmission.

execute the following command as root,
# cd /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers
# gcc -shared -o nvidia_drv.so nvidia_drv.o
Then restart X. thats all. everything will be fine again. no need to
reinstall nvidia-driver again.
