Then i installed Debian on /dev/hda3 and mounted it as / partition.and
used /dev/hda5 as swap again.
But when i boot i get Debian only
I want to edit lilo to get both Mandrake and Debian in the bootloader
menu.

If u already have xserver-xfree86 do this
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
apt-get install gnome
startx
That should get u working
probably the x-window-system package is not installed, by installing gnome all
over again it could fix ur problem

Try with CBQ -> Class based queueing or HTB
in cbq , a parent class is created of certain BW and then its shared among child.
Thjere is a configuration file maintained for each user and u can control the
upper and lower BW.

But for some reason i need 2.4.18 kernel in particular..Is it possible
to have that also after having a higher version...?

i logged into another machine via ssh and while ediitng using mutt for
some reason my network went down..
how do i go to the remote machinea nd save the file which i edited..The
remote machine is accessible..

i am newbie to debian and have installed it on my ibook g3 (900mhz). i
