Actually I know my Netgear MA311 works but we just moved to a new house
and the little antenna for the card was lost. I purchased a Netgear
WG31l ($50) and Sarge with a 2.6.11 kernel didn't recognize it. The
antenna fit the old MA311 card so I am out $50 but back on line. (I had

I am running Sarge with a 2.6.8 kernel compiled from the Debian source.
When I enter lsmod I get a response QM_Modules function not
implemented. The kernel was compiled with full support for modules.
Apropos knows nothing of QM_Modules function. What is it and how do I
implement it?

Could the problem be a timing issue?
I replaced the cpu and booted from the same hard drive (Sarge,
kernel-2.6.8 compiled from source). Wlan comes up as before, wavemon
shows a strong signal but there is no connection to the LAN.

I have no problem with pppoeconf
I ran out of space in a 9 Gbyte /var directory, most of the space
consumed by debug, kern.log and syslog files. With a little searching I
found the logrotate command and realized these files were being
rotated. In /var/log I found a large (approximately 1 Gbyte) syslog
file plus an equally l

From a website I selected a financial document which Mozilla opened
with xpdf. The screen display was perfect but it could not be printed,
that is, the file was apparently sent to the printer but nothing
happened. Using lynx localhost:631 Manage Jobs I found the job listed

Thanks for the suggestion. I had not learned about

I was surprised! After running dmesg I found my printer working again.
I don't understand why this is so but, as I had done nothing else (I
send these messages from another computer), dmseg must have corrected
the problem.
Thanks again for the help.
