Problem connecting app to X display server

HI, I'm new to Debian and LINUX so any help would be greatly appreciated.   I am trying to run a simulation program on Debian. It compiles fine (now) but whenever I try to launch the gui it tells me it can't connect to the display and that I need to run:  export DISPLAY=:0   [or setenv--I'm

Problems with make html_docs for an app

Following the advice of others more savvy with the app, OneSAF Test Bed (OTB), I went to the app directory and typed make html_docs. Examples of the errors to follow (tried to send to a file but somehow captured none of the errors, only what worked, sorry). At top of screen: "terminal.0:/usr/loc

What pkgs need to be installed to use "make html_docs"?
