libc broken?

Hi! Suppose that when I was trying to apt-get install imagemagick and upgrading "some" libraries, one of the libraries was libc6... and was not completely upgradedit might be broken giving as a result an useless linux installationisn't it? In fact, the booting process just freezes! 1.- how
