Hi, please forgive the newbie...
While waiting to get a copy of Hamm for my main machine, I thought I'd
try
putting Bo on an old machine I've got.
486DX33, <4MB RAM (3968kB), 520MBHD (no CD, I was going to install debs
via
FTP from my thin-netted major machine or even floppy).
ignificant changes in configuration in
between.
Been looking, still too inexperienced and I've run up against the wall
of my
own ignorance. Could someone please at least point me in the direction of the
right literature, if not give me the answers outright (which would be REALLY

Thank you. Apache locks under /var/*, I'll have a look. Much appreciated.

nks, guys, but:
a) Not using LILO
b) I found the reference that says that is an unadvised procedure when I was
first reading about the problem:

Any suggestions why a kernel recompile would just lose everything, when I use
'make xconfig'?

I will (have to reboot for that, at the moment I'm a part of the Gates
collective. Quel horreur and please pardon my pathetic French, I took Russian
and German). Thank you very much for the hints.

Hi all,
quick questions:
1) Can anyone think of a reason why running the setup of StarOffice 5
would
cause a complete (and I mean complete) freeze and hang of a computer?
Said computer is an AMD K6-233 with 128MB running Hamm (2.02), under
kernel
2.0.34. X-Windows WAS wor
so installed so I can use XF86Setup (and have
a backup in case S3V ever dies).

On an AMD K6-233 with 128MB RAM, running Hamm under kernel 2.0.34
Hi there,
I have a fairly vanilla Hamm 2.02 release with kernel 2.0.34. It lives
on
/dev/hdb1, where Winborg lives on /dev/hda1. I don't use LILO in an MBR, I use a
boot floppy.
I download the source for kernel 2.0.36. I make x/menu/config, dep,

What driver are you using under Linux (and W95 too) for the network card?
