Got back from a trip only to find my webserver largely dead. When I
tried to reboot with knoppix, first the bios noted problems with the
hard drive. Knoppix eventually started, but when I tried to mount the
hard drive, I got a lengthy cycle of error messages of the form:
hda: read_intr: status
s (virtual domains) get set up in
/etc/apache2/sites-available with sym-links to sites-enabled.

daily checking for new virus signatures on clamav's home site. Probably get

On my installation (from source), the url is /phpMyAdmin (note the caps in
the middle). Is this your problem?

/etc/init.d/spamassassin start should then work.
The configuration files are discussed in /usr/share/doc/spamassassin
as well as in the on-line documentation.
