You can not connect a ethernet controller and a modem together. They are
two different protocols and can not talk. You can pickup an ethernet card
for your P3 based PC though and connect a cat5 crossover cable between
them.

I am having an issue with my SID install. Every once in a while I boot up
and during system bootup I get a kernel panic. I then reboot and all is

Debian,I have been having troubles to no end installing Debian on my system.I've recently purchased a WD800JD SATA hd and the I/OFlex SATA Controller.
First I was trying to install Woody for ~3-4 days before I received both pieces of hardware and have been trying to install it for many hours today
