my e-mail provider (www.gmx.net) uses SMTP-authentication with cram-md5. I
use exim as MTA. But in the manual is written that SMTP-authentication is
disabled in the makefile by default. And because authentication doesn't work
I think it is disabled in the debian package. But I am not sure.

I use the potato distribution from LinuxTag 2000.
If I installed gpm, the mouse in X doesn't work although I can use it under
the console. After uninstalling gpm everything is OK.
Does anyone know of that?
How can I use both, gpm and X?

I tried to configure my internet connection on my potato system via wvdial
an pppconfig, but neither of this works correctly.
When running wvdial, it starts the connection and holds it, but I cannot
access the internet (I tried it with netscape and lynx).
When running pon, it dials, but imm
The last days I've read some messages that I should use the es1370 or es1371
driver for that card. lsmod identified my card as es1371 so I've loaded this
driver as module. But although my card seems to be found by the kernel,
there is nothing in /dev/sndstat.
Did i forget something to do?

The "Zoom current window" feature of enlightenment doesn't work with the
deb-package of enlightenment. But my X-server does support it, because as I

after a failed login to try it again. How can I cange this behaviour to get
rid of this delay?

Where can be the problem? The minimum lifecycle of passwords is set to 0
days in /etc/login.defs
